2022 Scholarship Application

The Middlesex County Blue Star Mothers-Connecticut Chapter 3 is pleased to announce that we are offering a $1500 scholarship to be awarded to a Connecticut high school senior in the spring of 2022. The scholarship will be awarded to a senior who will be going on to a four-year college and who has a parent (or legal guardian) actively serving in the military or a parent (or legal guardian) who is an honorably discharged Veteran. Military service includes the Army, Marines, Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard, National Guard and Reserves.

Please consult your school’s Guidance Department with questions regarding any information requested.

PLEASE NOTE:
ALL required documentation MUST be included in your ONE application submission. Incomplete submissions will be discarded.

The completed Scholarship Application

Your Essay

May be included in the application or on a separate paper.

Three letters of Recommendation

  • one from a Guidance Counselor,
  • one from a non-relative,
  • one from either your employer or your community service program or extra-curricular activity leader.

Your FAFSA

Attach a copy.

 

Applications must be postmarked no later than Friday, April 1, 2022.

The application must be received in its entirety and if any required information is missing or incorrect, said application will be disqualified. No exceptions will be made.

Applications will be judged on the following criteria and in order of importance:
Military Parent, Essay, Community Service, Need, Grades.  Award winners will be asked to provide proof of parent’s military service.

Award decisions will be made by Friday, May 20, 2022.  Award recipient and High School will be notified.
